2.8 TV and Radio

A single external system provides all TV services for the development, including satellite, pay-per-view television, conventional digital, and HDTV. All of the apartments are individually linked to this. There are TV aerial outlets in all the principal rooms of your apartment. On the main TV plate in the living room, there are outlets for digital TV and satellite signals (Sky Q).

All the flats are wired for Sky Q. The apartments have been configured so that the facility for Sky Q connection is provided within the living room of each unit. The lounge and all other rooms are provided with terrestrial aerial outlets, supplied directly from the roof-mounted aerial.

If you wish to use satellite/Sky Q TV, connect your Sky/satellite box to the left-hand SAT outlet on the low-level TV plate in the living room in the traditional way. Connect your TV to your satellite box using an HDMI cable to make use of HD services.

If you wish to mount your TV on the wall at high level, there is an HDMI link available that allows you to connect your satellite box HDMI output to the low-level HDMI outlet on the wall plate. Once you do this, you will then be able to connect the high-level HDMI outlet to your TV. This facility avoids having HDMI cables hanging loose when connecting a wall-mounted TV to a low-level Sky Box.

The area of wall in the living room and bedroom where the various high level sockets are located has been strengthened to take a wall mounting bracket for a TV to be fitted.

Living Room Setup

• All apartments are wired for Sky Q
• The main TV plate in the living room has both digital TV and satellite outlets
• If using Sky Q or satellite TV, connect your Sky/satellite box to the left-hand SAT outlet on the low-level TV plate in the living room
• Connect your TV to the satellite box using an HDMI cable to access HD services
• For wall-mounted TVs, a built-in HDMI link is available
• Please note that the lower faceplate in the living room contains two satellite outlets but only the left-hand outlet is active

Bedroom Setup

There are two different types of TV faceplates installed in the bedrooms:

• Multi-outlet TV faceplate – contains four outlets:
  2 x Satellite outlets – Inactive
  1 x Terrestrial TV outlet – Active
  1 x DAB (Digital Radio) outlet – Inactive
• Please note that only the TV outlet is active. The satellite and DAB outlets are not connected or in use.
