2.3 Meter Readings

On the day you move into your new home, you will be met by a representative from Urban & Urban who will have read all the meters for your electric and water supply. The meter details will be recorded on the Key Handover Form, a copy of which you will have been given for your own records.

In order for your move to go as smoothly as possible, we will arrange for the settlement of the final account bills that we are responsible for up to the date of the legal completion of your purchase and will also organise for your new details to be put on the billing accounts with the relevant utility companies.

Moving forward, you are at liberty to change the utility supplier, should you wish, for the utilities that are individual to your apartment.

Please note you will be responsible for arranging for the connection of your incoming Openreach internet/phone line and any internet access or television/radio services that require subscription.

The incoming broadband point is located in the cupboard and is wired back to the distribution point (DP) in the Landlord’s riser ready for activation by an Openreach engineer or Broadband provider.

When you make arrangements with Openreach and are given a date for connection, the engineer will need to gain access to the broadband point located in the cupboard in your apartment. The engineer will also require access to the DP in the Landlord’s Riser for connection and testing; this will need to be arranged in advance with the Managing Agents.

Please bear in mind that it can take up to 6 weeks to get a broadband connection following the initial connection of the landline.
