11.2 Windows and Doors
Windows are tilt and turn and are operated as below:

We would recommend that you do not fix curtain poles to the actual window frames themselves as this could result in the warranty being invalidated.
If you wish to fit blinds or curtains, please make sure when ordering and measuring that you make allowance for opening of the windows. To allow tilt and turn windows to fully function, the most effective blind would be a Venetian blind. Fit the blind at the top of the opening frame and take the width to the edge of your handle. At the bottom add 3 cm to the drop past where the glass ends, so you can fit the hold down brackets – this will allow you to tilt the window without the blind falling forward. You could also use a roller blind or pleated blind; however, this may prevent the window from fully opening at 90o to the frame. The bracket will protrude; open the window and see what space you have in the open position.
The window and patio doors in your apartment are PVCu or powder coated aluminium. They will not require any form of maintenance other than being wiped down with a damp cloth to keep the frames clean (any excess water should be wiped off) to avoid streaking or future staining.
Under the terms of the lease, it is the responsibility of the homeowner to clean both the inside and outside face of all windows and external doors. This should be carried out periodically using a soft cloth and warm water with a light detergent.
