The heating in the bathrooms and en-suites is provided by the electric towel rail.

The electric panel heaters are wall-mounted and come complete with temperature and time clock controls. The apartments have been constructed to the latest building regulations and are extremely well insulated and require very little energy to heat them. However, direct electric heating can be expensive to operate, particularly if it has been left operational and set at elevated room temperatures all day. For this reason, it is important to set the time and temperature controls for the panel heaters to your required temperature and operating times so that heating is only operating when required.

By controlling the temperature within the different rooms, you will have better control over the overall heating in your apartment. We would recommend that where there are rooms that are used infrequently or not used at all that you either turn down the heating or switch it off to improve the energy efficiency of your home and keep your energy bills down.

During the summer months and given the high level of insulation built into your apartment, it should not be necessary to have the heating on at all and so again during this period we would suggest that it is turned down to a very low setting or turned off. During this period, the electric towel rails can still be used to dry towels and remove moisture from the bathrooms and en-suites as they are controlled separately.

To get the best from the heating system, set the thermostat on the panel heater to the following range:

Room

Occupied set point

Unoccupied set point

Vacant/Frost protection set point

Living Room

20-22 deg C

10-12 deg C

6-7 deg C

Bedrooms

18-20 deg C

10-12 deg C

6-7 deg C

Hallways

18-20 deg C

10-12 deg C

6-7 deg C

For periods when the room is occupied and you want heating, please allow 30–60 minute heat up time for the system to achieve the preferred temperature in the room. Turning the temperature on the room thermostats too high will not necessarily heat the rooms up any quicker. All this will achieve is the heating system continuing to operate and raise the internal room temperature higher.

When the room reaches the required temperature set point, the heating will automatically go off and the thermostat will then re-engage when the room cools below the required temperature.

If your heating is left off or set on frost protection for a long period of time (e.g. following a holiday) then it will take slightly longer for the rooms to heat up and allowances should be made for this. As referred to previously, please do not expect it to warm up quicker if you set all of the thermostats to their highest setting, but rather be patient and let it perform as it has been designed to and warm up over a longer period of time.

The panel heaters are Wi-Fi controlled and can be configured to operate in conjunction with your smart phone or tablet and home Wi-Fi network to enable you to control them remotely. Each panel heater is also fitted with manual button and controls should you not wish to utilise the app or to enable operation should your home Wi-Fi system develop a fault.

The panel heaters feature intuitive onboard user controls with a seven-day programmable timer, seven time periods a day, and five built-in preset modes. The Adax Wi-Fi app allows effortless control and management of multiple heaters independently using a single, user-friendly interface. Features include device security, personalised heating schedules, options to zone devices for precision control and manual override. Users can enjoy maximum comfort and energy savings with consistent, optimal performance of the home’s space heating system. When switched on, the heater should power up, and the panel heater controller will light up. If the radiator does not turn on automatically, there is a power on/reset button located on the side of the heater that can be pressed to restore power and reset the radiator controls.

Please see the image below:

When the heater is switched on after being powered off, it will default to a temperature set point of 35°C. This is too high for normal use, and the heater should not be left at this temperature for extended periods. Prolonged use at this temperature may cause damage to the heater controls. We recommend setting the heater to a normal room temperature range of 20–25°C for optimal performance and safety.

Your heating is provided by individual electric panel heaters that are in each of the rooms and hallway in your apartment.
